Alpkit have only been producing Sonder bikes for a few years but they have already acquired a cult following a fervent fanbase. It’s not hard to see why.
They offer something different but they don’t charge through the nose for the privilege. Despite being seemingly niche and – let’s say it – a bit funny looking, Sonder bikes are impressively specced and great value.
They are also impeccably well designed. The geometry of Sonder bikes is utterly modern and progressive. These aren’t beardy-weirdy retro bikes. They’re secretly rather cutting edge and pioneering.
They’re not all hardtails anymore. There’s some fully bouncy model in the mix now.
Here are the models that will be available to demo at Northern Grip…
Active and plush suspension for a ‘bottomless’ feel and ‘poppy’ ride, climbs really well and descends flat out.
Long, low and slack 27.5 plus-sized hardtail. A hooligan of a bike for trails centres, singletrack and UK’s big mountains.
Sonder Transmitter Carbon
As above but carbon. So radder.
Sonder Broken Road
Titanium hardtail mountain bike for long rides, remote places and wilderness bikepacking.
Quick, lightweight 29er modern mountain bike, a genuine multi-activity hardtail. Fast and fun without any fuss.
Sonder Camino Al
Not a mountain bike but hey, s’all bikes innit? Dropped-bar adventure bike with a relaxed geometry for responsive, spirited all-day comfort.
Sonder Camino Ti
As above but titani-yummy.
An all-season full carbon road bike for alpine riding and the toughest endurance racing. Go Light Go Fast Go Far.
As like previous year’s Sonders at Northern Grip you can expect plenty of other apparel, accessories, gadgets, surprises and prototypes kicking around too that they *might* let you have a play on or purchase.
