We’re really excited to have the support of Double D Creative for this year’s festival so we had a chat with one of their designers Tom Brookes
33 years young
3. Day job?
Web Designer for Double D Creative
4. What was your first mountain bike?
It was a long time ago and I think it was some sort of Apollo but what I do remember it was returned with a cracked frame within a couple of weeks
5. What bikes do you own currently?
Currently rocking a YT Capra but I also own Saracen Amplitude DJ bike & a custom Volume BMX
6. What is your favourite trail around Rossendale?
Unfortunately, I haven’t had the pleasure to ride in Rossendale but I’ve heard Lee Quarry is a good place to go tear it up. Outside of Rossendale though Llandegla or Marin Trail is pretty fun and Antur Stiniog for when you want that something extra
7. What is your favourite album and/or favourite artist?
I like all kinds of music ranging from Oasis to James Brown but if I had to choose one Artist and Album it would be The Foo Fighters ‘The Colour and The Shape’.. it’s just always been there
8. What is the best gig you’ve been to?
That’s a tough one but Foo Fighter’s @ Old Trafford Cricket Ground has got to be up there closely followed by Snoop Dogg @ the Apollo… Who doesn’t like a bit of Snoop
9. What is your favourite tipple of choice?
Nothing fancy just a simple Ice Cold Bud
10. Why do you ride bikes?
Gives me a sense of freedom and the odd adrenalin rush
11. What are you most looking forward to at Northern Grip?
Not that I need one but it’s a good reason to get out on the bike to explore some new territory followed by a pint and probably a pie
12. What else besides bikes are you interested in?
When I’m not riding I can usually found outside either playing football or carp fishing
At Double D Creative creative we have been delivering eye-catching and engaging campaigns for traditional and digital media since the doors opened in 2006. With a list of impressive clients we have built up a wide range of expertise across many different sectors – from selling burgers to saving lives.
We were approached by the Northern Grip team to design and build their website for the event. The deadline was tight, but as always, we were invigorated by the challenge and from their current branding to base the design on we created a website which was bold, clean and easy to navigate.
Being involved in bikes for many years I felt at home with the project and was over the moon when we later jumped on board as a digital sponsor, a festival for bikes which included camping, entertainment and beer, what wasn’t there to love.
